- My courses / classes are generally one-on-one and designed to suit all skill
levels.
- We organise a compatible day and time then make it a date. Please call to confirm pricing.
- Beginners are most welcome - and we adjust our class to allow for all levels of experience.
- Experienced students and artists can also fine tune their skills in a more challenging class.
All of my glass classes include tools and materials (Glass, solder lead etc).
- Includes Kiln firings if required.
- You can attend one class, or arrange a series of classes over
weeks/months.
- All courses begin with a brief but important talk about 'Safety and Studio Conduct'.
- I do my best to offer all students the best value experience for their financial investment.
- Many students make beautiful objects during their classes which they are allowed to keep.
- Some students make windows for their homes.
This is a small brief about each class below. Remeber, everyone is differentt, so the courses are adjusted on an as needed basis to suit your abilities. We will make class suggestions when you make your enquiry.

STAIN PAINTING CLASS (3 HOURS)
In this class you paint the glass and then the paint gets fired onto the glass as in a Church window. It is remarkably easy to achieve!
What you might do:
The student will be taught both the art of medieval stain-painting and contemporary styles of painting glass. A single piece of glass will be painted a minimum of 4 times, each layer of paint being fired before the next is added, to capture a timeless piece which will withstand time of over 100 yrs. This will become a family heirloom!
Classes are 3 hrs and all materials and tools supplied. A minimum of 4 classes needed to complete a project and following classes of lead-light if the piece is to be leaded into a window.
The stain-painting class cost $100.00 for 3 hrs.
LEAD-LIGHT AND COPPER-FOIL CLASS (3 HOURS)
This is the perfect class for beginners to working with glass is a combined course where each medium can be explored if chosen. Techniques taught are design, cutting of glass, Leading or Copperfoiling, and soldering.
What you might do:
The first project will be to complete a sample pattern using all techniques, then onto creating a piece of choice in the medium of choice, whether it be a small Window or Wall Art for the home. During the second project students may wish to purchase a selection of glass of their choice.
Accommodation for advanced students.
This is a
3 hr class with all materials and tools supplied.
A minimum of 4 people per class is needed.
The lead-lighting class cost is $60.00 for 3 hrs.
KILN WORKED GLASS (4 HOURS + 1 HOUR FOLLOW-UP)
What you might do:
Create your own jewellery, bowl, platter or glass artwork with the use of the kiln to fuse and slump glass, working with fusible and dichroic glass. Learn to cut glass, design, create and start to understand the methods of melting glass. Most of my students come out with about $1000.00 worth of goods at the end of this class .
This is a 4 hr class with all materials and tools supplied.
One 4 hr class needed and a return day of 1 hr to clean up finished work.
The jewellery/fusing and slumping class cost $400 for 1/2 day.
All classes are fun and techniques are easy to learn!
The emphasis on all classes is:- to give it a go and have the most enjoyment possible, try out new ideas, learn new skills and laugh a lot along the way. Classes are available for the age of 10 yrs and up to over the hill and down the other side, never too young or too old to learn the Art of Glass.
