Class Testimonials
I have found Kirsten Laken
to be a very talented, reliable and imaginative Glass
Artist.
As a teacher she is patient,
encouraging and helped me to create large leadlight
pieces which I would never have believed possible. I
have no hesitations in recommending her.

In that little Cottage
in Selby you gave me two years of bliss - painting glass,
it was just the best. You are a clever teacher,
never inhibiting me, knowing when to advise and when
to stand back.
Kirsten Thanks for the
support and friendship over the two years.

While
experimenting for art ideas and forms for 3&4
Studio Art, I came across Kirsten Laken, the innovative
Selby Glass Artist. “Glass is amazing” she told me,
“you can use it in so many ways”.
I began a course with her
in making a small stained glass window to suit my theme
of fairy-tales. With her help, I learnt many different
techniques ranging from engraving, slumping, stain painting
and fusing, to leadlighting and copperfoiling. It was
amazing, I’ve never had so much fun creating an artwork
! My final product was a window of my contemporary gothic
depiction of Snow White. The best thing about the whole
course was that Kirsten was just so enthusiastic and
encouraged me to try whatever I thought of.
Thanks x
